I am pleased to announce a new series of 15 classes for the spring of 2019. Classes meet once a week. Children's classes meet for two hours, adults for three hours. There are additional workshop times provided for adults to practice.
At the studio we will explore the many possibilities of working with clay. Instruction is based on the needs of individual students. Classes are small and consist of students of all levels of expertise.
For some we will work on basic techniques of handbuilding or throwing on the wheel. Others with more experience will develop and refine their skills, explore expressing ideas and feelings in their work. Students will work with stoneware clay, glazes, slips and stains. Adults will prepare glazes.
There will be demonstrations, discussions of other artists and historical works. We will consider issues of form, aesthetics and meaning in our work.
